ROOMMATES

“Tea.. Ready..” I heard Arjun calling out. I was head to toe covered under the blanket. It was Saturday, getting up early mornings and especially on a weekend is painful.  “The rent is due in 2 days” he said. I remembered last month I had paid and it’s his turn this month. Exactly a year back when we met at a common friend’s place, both of us were pissed with our respective accommodations and roommates. We discussed over a drink, found a place in a week’s time and shifted there. It wasn’t tough settling in the new house, unlike my previous experiences, and got lot of help from my new roommate. “Are you planning to go home next weekend? It’s a long weekend.” he asked. I realised I hadn’t booked the tickets.  “Yes, I want to but forgot to book tickets, and I am sure wouldn’t be available now with all the madness for the holidays” I sighed and cursed my planning . Long weekends are boon for a 5-day working culture. You get a holiday on a Friday you leave by Thursday

What makes me Uncommon

After my travelogue on Football in Kerala, i've been thinking to write something. Lot of topics came into my mind none so powerful as the topic on myself!!! Actually this topic hit me after a little verbal spat with one of my colleague.. :P topic i came upon is uncommon me...??? What makes me different or uncommon from others? i do or have lived the same as any other human being has (majority of them do, only 10% are ambanis, bachans, roshans, mittals, khans, or some unlucky person.). Kerala - God's Own Country another definition

I've been travelling to some very rural parts of Kerala in last 2 days.. Things i saw mystified my Eyes.. It's said when the Football World Cup happens 95% of Kerala is divided into Fan clubs of 2 teams Argentina and Brazil... the remaining 5% is the rest like Italy, England, Germany and lately Spain tooo.. These fan clubs errect life like big banners and hoardings of their favourites.. on the way to Guruvayur saw such many hoardings.. It was a sheer amazing site.. A country, where the sport doesn't have a proper Football team as to even compete a club team of any country (though it has produced greats but.. anyways its a debatable topic), celebrating victory of another country.. Now coming back to the subject, there were people announcing support with images of all the superstars of Football be it Messi, Kaka, Robinho, Rooney one thing came to my mind seeing this, Does these stars ever know of such a fan following??? In a place called Nhangatri saw a surprise of my life a

The Best of Childhood

It has been a privileged life with everything experienced in such short span of years. On a drizzling sunday with the drops on my face with a mug of coffee in hand a thought came to my mind, to jot down my experiences in my childhood. I would ask everyone who reads this note to do so. You'll come across such beautiful and innocent incidents or experiences that it would at least make your day. Schools are really the best time anyone would ever had. For me it was nothing different. A very old school (nearing 100 years) with a huge ground and a amazing landscape. The roofs with thatched tiles (which used to leak during the heavy downpour in June and October), windows with wooden doors hanging on one hatch (hanging on the strength of the last screw), the wooden benches having an entire Mahabharata scribbled on it by the ancestors of the same class and the floors of mud stone which were now red in color. As an average student its always a pleasure to be not in the list of model students
